An honour to own - a pleasure to wear

The Bowie knife gets its name from an American plantation owner with a reputation for brawling and carrying what was described as "that butcher knife". This knife and its owner became famous thanks to the popular press at the time and soon Sheffield knifemakers were turning out "Bowie Knives" in several patterns.

The accepted characteristics of a Bowie knife are a large blade with a clipped point and a weight forward design so it could be used in place of a small axe in a pinch.

I have taken some liberty in interpreting the design but for the purists I meant no disrespect.

                                                             Riverboat History
 The first Riverboat Gambler was designed in 1998, one hundred years after the Klondike gold rush of 1898. This was an exciting period in Canadian history which saw riverboats on the Klondike River transporting men and supplied to the gold fields.  When this design was complete it reminded me so much of that bit of history that
it seemed natural to name the knife in honour of that period. 
                             This little knife is a favourite of mine and has become my Signature piece.

Half Guarded Ironman
This new model fills a void
in the Bowie Line.
It's modeled after the Ironman but runs along the 
size of the Riverboat.
The half guard helps cut the manufacturing cost while still providing a solid guard.
The physical heft of this knife has to be felt to be believed.

George's firm belief in Sole Authourship has always kept him from 
incorporating other makers Damascus into his knives.

This Beautiful factory produced Damasteel from Sweden eliminates those concerns
resulting in some remarkable knives.
